But there was a sudden confusion, man became ungodly. They disobeyed God, they wouldn't like to be scattered on earth. Laziness grew in the personalities of God's children. INQ7 COVER STORY Many in the crowd have traveled for hours to reach a huge, open-air convention center in the middle of a vast field here. Conspicuous in their garb, especially the women wearing long skirts and sporting long, braided hairdos, they have come by the thousands, as they do every Sunday, to attend a Thanksgiving service. From 7:30 in the morning, they sing worship songs and listen to their ministers. Now and then, some in the audience leave their seats to buy snacks at any of the many food stalls within the center, or buy a calendar photo of the group’s revered leader or a CD compilation of his favorite love songs.
